Jun 7th - Flying with an Eagle

Check this amazing video out and enjoy as you ride on the back of "Darshan", an Imperial Eagle that is released from atop the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, U.A.E.  During the last 30 seconds or so, the bird tucks in it's wings and descends to it's handler on the ground with a speed of 170 kph!

Turn the volume down on your computer before watching!

Fun facts:  The CN Tower in Toronto is 1,815 ft tall, The Burj Khalifa in Dubai is 2,717 ft tall!  Other projects now underway in various cities around the world will see buildings in-excess of 3,200 ft tall!!!

Thanks for sharing this Walter! Very cool. I love the way that for the first 4 1/2 minutes it looks as though the eagle does not flap its wings at all; its head however never stops moving as it looks around. There are several more great eagle videos to enjoy if you click through to the youtube channel that posted this, as well as a behind-the-scenes video for this particular flight, showing how they carried "Darshan" to the very tip of the building.

Thanks for mentioning all the other videos Kris, I've personally watched them but perhaps many others have not. I love the way "Darshan" glances back up to the top of the building every now and then. Amazing how the feathers on the head and back barely get ruffled even at high speed.
