Sep 4th - Hey, That Was Better!

Despite a strong easterly wind, we had a number of raptors fly over the park today.  This morning started while I was still at home getting ready and I received a text message saying that there were a few birds flying along the Bluffs and heading west.  I looked at the wind direction at that time and it was NE 17km/h - I almost flew down to the park!  Sure enough within minutes of getting there I saw my first bird.  With the wind blowing and lack of humidity in the air today, it was most enjoyable just to sit and chat in-between bird sightings.  Unfortunately it looks like the heat and humidity will be back for the weekend.

Well, one Kestrel anyway!  Today I only lasted 2 hours at the park due to the heat and humidity.

A nice low-flying Osprey was seen by Avro shortly after I left.....figures!

Sep 1st - A Fog-filled Day

Only 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk made it through the fog this morning...or that's all I saw.

Aug 30th - No Hawk Watching for Me...

Sad to report but today I'm sick in bed with Blue Jays fever!  If you happen to make it down to Rosetta and see any raptors, please let me know.  Thanks!  I should be back on my feet and good to go again tomorrow.
